Blue Tokai Cold Brewz
Three cold brew variations to make daily caffeination addiction infinitely more fun. They also all happen to be dairy free, because I'm a conspiracy theorist who believes that the entire world is actually lactose intolerant AF.
Rose Cardamom Latte
Taking #millenialpink to whole new levels of caffeinated bougie and totally delicious. In case you don't want to mess with dried rose petals and/or can't find them, just use rose syrup. Less fancy, just as delicious.
• 1/3 cup dried rose petals
• 1 tsp ground cardamom
• 1/2 cup overnight soaked almonds • 2 cups of boiling water
• 1-2 tsp brown sugar
• 1/2 glass cold brew concentrate
• hella ice
Get the coffee cold brewing.
Pour the boiling water over the rose petals and cardamom to make a sort of rose cardamom infusion. Then add the almonds and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning, blend your almond rose cardamom tea and strain with a fine sieve.
Add brown sugar to taste. Ta-da! You've got THE #millenialpink drink.
Fill a glass with ice, pour in cold brew and then add the infused almond milk as needed.
I like my cold brew lattes to be nice and milky, suit yourself.
Top with more dried rose petals for extra prettiness.
Cochata
Cosecha, my favorite Mexican restaurant in Oakland makes a mean Horchata Latte, that has gotten most of us through many, many Sunday hangovers.. Make your horchata extra sweet and syrupy so that when you add the cold brew, it still tastes like rice pudding in drink form. Hehe.
• 1/2 cup long grain rice • 1/2 cup almonds
• 3 cinnamon sticks
• 1tbsp sesame seeds
• 3 tsp brown sugar
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 glass cold brew concentrate • hella ice
Get the coffee cold brewing.
Soak your rice, almonds, cinnamon and sesame seeds in the refrigerator overnight. The longer they have to soak, the creamier your horchata will be.
The next morning, blend like hell. Sweeten as you like, I'd recommend going full pudding on it and adding 2-3 tsp. of brown sugar.
Fill the glass with ice, pour in your horchata, top with as much cold brew concentrate as your sleep deprived state requires.
Spicy Mocha
Full disclosure, I usually add butter or ghee or cocoa butter to my mochas. It makes them extra lush and all the fat means that I'm less likely to get a caffeine stomach ache. If you'd like to make a butter mocha, just begin by blending 1tsp butter with little bit of hot water to emulsify it. Then add your other ingredients to the blender as if it never happened.
• 2tsp cocoa powder
• 1 tsp brown sugar
• 1/2 tsp red chili powder
• 1/2 cup overnight soaked almonds • 1/2 glass cold brew concentrate
• hella ice
This one's really straight forward.
Get the coffee cold brewing.
The next morning, blend your almonds, chili powder, cocoa powder and cold brew with hella ice and brown sugar to taste. Grin to yourself all day.
