This afternoon I made a very last minute decision to accompany a few friends on a hike up Mt. Baldy. The Claremont Weather God (such a solid guy, I tell you) has been blessing us with beautiful sunshine and pristine blue skies these past couple days so it seemed silly to stay in and do homework when I could be hiking in the glorious outdoors. It was a short, satisfying hike, with lovely conversation and new friends. I never fail to be amazed at the connections we are able to make and find, and how much we can love the feeling of 'belonging' or sharing a common experience. Sometimes, I get all sentimental and think that humans are such breathtakingly beautiful things. The opposite of that also applies.
Lately I've been feeling very stuck with my photography, as though I've hit a wall, and I think that may be evident in my pictures. For this, I apologize. I've been mulling over the idea of holding a photographer's event here at the 5Cs, to create a space for photographers to come together, swap ideas, and just learn from each other. It's not a very novel idea, but I feel like it would help me right now. In ways my beloved Google, and his big brother Internet- simply cannot.A proper update and more pictures of January, and the year that has just begun shall be put up very soon. Very soon indeed.
For now, I am home, warm, and feeling that delicious post-hike tiredness. I am content.
